This was a fun and very simple project! Instead of packing a couple of chairs with us we decided to learn how to make camp furniture on the fly. This was our first attempt at making chair and we plan on refining our technique each time we go out.

The tripod method is easy and useful in a variety of ways.

Things you'll need:
- 3 pieces of wood, strong enough to not break under moderate pressure.
- 2 or 3 feet of cord (we used parachute chord)
- jacket or some kind of padding for a seat. (foliage would work as well)

Steps

1) lay all 3 pieces of wood on the ground

2) loosely wrap the chord about a third of the way down (loose enough to be able to place your fingers between the sticks)

3) Start with the center stick, twist it around until it becomes tight.

4) Adjust all three sticks until they hold eachother snug, stick the ends into the ground and assure they don't slip

5) place your desired padding into the area and have a seat.

It's really that easy! One thing we're going to try next time is make two of them so we can both have a camp chair and try spannig both seats with a couple of longer sticks to make a bench.

Next week we'll video tape the process and post some more detailed instructions.

Have fun! Let me know what else you've come up with.....
